Reconnecting and Staying Connected
I have been aware, for a while now, how much I value the relationships that I have had over the years. It seems that in every phase of my life, there have been people who have been VERY valuable to me. . .who I have cared very much about, and whom I think about very often.
I think that some would call this nostalgia, but I think that would be a misconception--I have no desire to return to the past, or to try to recapture the times and places that I once lived in (although at one time I made the mistake of trying to do that). I think it is very simply that I believe that when you come to bond with someone, when you truly love someone, there is a part of them that stay with you.
The bottom line is, that I simply MISS these people. . .I miss the presence of so many of these good friends in my daily life. . .seeing them and talking to them on a regular basis. I think it has nothing to do with reliving the past, or staying stuck in the past. It is more about moving FORWARD and trying to assimilate these relationships into my present life.
I think I have been blessed in this regard. The more and more I contact people, the more it is apparent to me how MANY folks I still keep in contact with as compared to others. I guess it is just that I never expected any friendship or relationship to just "end". I guess I have always expected these friendships to continue on one level or another. I have never, like many people DO, believed in "disposable relationships"
So, to all of the friends and loves that I still keep in contact with: To Steph, Ed, Rick, Metal, Davey G, Bill, Steve Brauer, Steve Bartlett, George T., Dave Raines, the three Julies, Judy, Robbin, Duane and Elisa, joel and Nancy, and all of the others that are still in my address book and part of a semi-regular correspondence, thank you so much for being who you are and allowing our love and friendship to transcend time and space.
For those still MIA? To Jeannie Williams, Ken Kilbourn, Lisa Skigen, Darla, Mike Dalton, Carlton, Ryuta, Makiko, Mark Charlton, and all of the others that I am out of contact with, and ESPECIALLY Bekah J.. . .if you should come across this, know that there is always SOME sort of place for you in my life! You are loved.

Some great memories there! (And some not so great.)
Jody is one of the people I think about from those days. How's he doing? You keep in touch with him, don't you?
